Why it matters

What bookkeeping actually buys you

Most owners do not want a bookkeeper. They want to know whether the business made money last month, whether there is enough set aside for HST, and whether the year end return is going to hurt. Clean books are how you answer those three questions without guessing.

Records are reconciled against your bank and credit card statements every month, not once a year in a panic. That means your HST filings are based on real numbers, your payroll remittances go out on time, and by the time we prepare your year end return there is nothing left to reconstruct.

It also matters if the CRA ever asks questions. Reconciled records with matching source documents are the difference between a short review and a long one.

What is included

Everything that keeps the books straight

Monthly bookkeeping

Transactions categorised and reconciled against your bank and credit card statements every month.

Financial statements

Profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash position, explained in plain language rather than handed over as a PDF.

HST filing

Registration, quarterly or annual returns, and input tax credits claimed against records that support them.

Payroll

Pay runs, source deductions, remittances, and T4 slips at year end for you and your staff.

Year end preparation

Books closed, accounts tied out, and everything packaged so the corporate return can be filed without delay.

Catch-up work

Several months or years behind is fixable. We rebuild the records, then keep them current from there.

How it works

Three steps to clean books

01

We look at what exists

Statements, receipts, and whatever software you are using. We tell you how far behind things are and what it takes to catch up.

02

We get current

Accounts reconciled, HST and payroll brought up to date, and any outstanding filings dealt with in the right order.

03

We keep it that way

A monthly cycle from then on, with statements you can actually read and no surprises waiting at year end.

Who this suits

Built for small operations

Incorporated businesses

Corporations that need monthly books, payroll, and a clean set of records for the T2 at year end.

Sole proprietors and freelancers

Business income reported on your personal return, with expenses tracked properly through the year.

Businesses behind on records

Months or years of unreconciled accounts rebuilt, then kept current so it does not happen again.

FAQ

Bookkeeping questions we get asked

How often will my books be updated?

Monthly for most clients. Transactions are categorised and reconciled against your statements each month, so the numbers you see reflect what actually cleared the bank.

I am two years behind. Can you still help?

Yes. Catch-up work is common. We rebuild the records year by year, file whatever is outstanding, and then keep things current on a monthly cycle.

Do you use specific accounting software?

We work with what you already have. If you are starting from spreadsheets or paper, we will set something up that suits the size of the business rather than the most expensive option.

Is bookkeeping separate from my tax return?

They are separate pieces of work, but they connect. Clean monthly books make the year end return faster to prepare, which usually costs you less overall.

Do you handle payroll and HST as well?

Yes. Pay runs, source deductions, remittances, T4 slips, HST registration and filing are all part of the same service.

What records do I need to give you?

Bank and credit card statements, sales invoices, purchase receipts, and payroll details if you have staff. We will tell you exactly what is missing rather than guessing.
